A GROUP of ducks have been discovered abandoned by the side of a road by a member of the public.
The Shelduck Ducklings were found by a road in Cark and brought to Kendal College Animal Rescue Centre.
The centre stated: "We have a group of Shell Duck Ducklings, found abandoned by a road in Cark, a lovely member of the public monitored them from afar to see if mum came back but unfortunately no sign of her
"The group of Mallard Ducklings sadly lost their mum to a dog attack, please keep dogs on leads if you are around areas where ducklings and goslings may be."
