A DRIVER was left ‘disheartened’ after her car was struck by another road user who proceeded to flee the scene in Milnthorpe.

The collision occurred on June 18, on Park Road at 5.59pm.

While the driver escaped unharmed her vehicle was written off due to the damage, while the driver that struck her fled the scene of the accident.

Police confirmed that enquiries were carried out after the report was made.

The driver said she was left dissatisfied with the response and urges the driver to come forward.

She said: “I feel disheartened about the police response saying ‘they were unwilling to look into it further due to lack of resources’ and because I wasn’t physically hurt.

“I was very luckily not to have been hurt but that’s what it would take for them to take the matter seriously.

“It’s draining my financial resources as I’m having to pay to be able to get to work and my hours have reduced due to the travel times so I’m losing money there.

“I’m having to pay out for a new car whilst faced with the possibility I can’t get that money back and I’m going to lose my no claims as it was a hit and run.”

The driver is appealing to the public for information on the incident and is urging the person who hit her car to come forward to police regarding the incident.
