Inquests to open after tragic helicopter crash
THE inquests into the deaths of a helicopter pilot and his passenger who died when the craft they were in crashed are due to open.
Pilot and Burton in Lonsdale resident Ian Macdonald, 66, and Admasu Birhan Tefera, 16, a German student staying with a family in the area, were killed in the incident just before noon on June 20.
The helicopter crashed into a field off Bentham Road, Burton in Lonsdale, prompting an immediate and huge multi-emergency service response.
The craft was returning to the village after a flight from Barrow, according to flight data.
