PATIENTS of a Lake District medical practice have been assured that the surgery will remain open despite the resignation of its partner General Practitioners.
In a statement released on Friday, Dr Paul Davies, Dr Kaye Ward and Dr Paula Cook, who run Central Lakes Medical Group, covering two practices in Ambleside and Hawkshead, said they had resigned their contracts due to 'a number of factors outside of their control'.
Responding to obvious concern, Hawkshead surgery tweeted:
"Residents of Hawkshead and surrounding area: following today's sad announcement please be assured our branch surgery is not closing.
"It is a requirement within the tender specification that a service must be maintained from Hawkshead."
