A YOUTH Group in Walney has been asked to share their ideas on how the town centre and communities can engage young people.
Barrow Springmount Youth Group proposed a new youth cafe which would allow young people to study, learn and socialise as part of the town's regeneration plans.
Young people work with local businesses to develop ideas and proposals for the future of their towns and local areas.
This project also involved Barrow Borough Council, Cumbria County Council, and MP Simon Fell.
The "Your Community" programme is funded by Hello Future and delivered with the Centre for Leadership Performance and a range of local businesses and organisations.

The six-week programmes began in May, with other similar projects in Frizington and Carlisle.
All of the youth groups wanted a space where they could meet and interact with each other, such as a cafe, a space of music and performances, and opportunities to learn new life skills to prepare for independent life.
Nicola Woolley, programme manager at the Centre for Leadership Performance said: “The program allows young people to share what they feel is important about their local community and influence change in their local area”
