AFTER a month and a half of searching, Judith and Rebecca Bridge were pleased to receive their treasured cat, Claude.

The mother and daughter duo lost their Norweigian Forest Cat when he wandered away from their home in Grange.

Since then Claude has been roaming Eggerslack woods, where he must have seemed at home for a while considering his species comes from the Norwegian wilderness.

But then he started to become hungry, and unlike his ancestors, he was not used to hunting. Before venturing further into Cumbria, he decided to turn around. He slightly missed Grange though, ending up in Allithwaite.

There, he was spotted by a member of the Allithwaite Neighbourhood Watch, who saw a 'thin and miserable' cat. The kind-hearted neighbour gave him some tuna, which revived Claude.

A post was put out on social media, and because by this point the disappearance of Claude was well known within the community, someone else eventually recognised him and he was eventually returned to the Bridges.

Rebecca Bridge said that he was 'very bedraggled and thin' but was back in order after a visit to Archway Vets in Lindale. She wanted to say a 'big thank you to everyone who has looked after him.'
