A 27-yr-old man from Sedbergh has been arrested on suspicion of rape following an alleged incident in the town on March 1.
Police received reports in the early hours of Saturday morning that a 23-yr-old female had been raped in the town by a man known to the victim.
The suspect has been placed on police bail until April 29 pending further enquiries.
