PASSENGERS on a historic railway line can learn more about the renowned route via their earphones.
The Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line has developed a commentary in MP3 format to allow visitors to the line to download a potted history of the various sights along its 72 mile length, to their MP3 players.
The scheme is currently in a trial stage but files covering the journey between all of the station on the line and a special commentary on Carlisle station can be downloaded from their website www.settle-carlisle.co.uk.
