GIMMER lambs are taking to the big screen in a new DVD that uncovers the highs and lows of local sheep sales.
Launched by Bonnysheep.com, which was established three years ago to provide an online catalogue of different breeds of sheep for farmers, the DVD documents Mule Gimmer Lamb sales in local marts around the district using footage shot throughout last year's particularly difficult sale period in the midst of foot-and-mouth outbreaks in the south of England and bluetongue disease.
The DVD costs £12 and can be purchased locally from the Nisa Newsagents in Sedbergh, Casterton Garage, Kitridding Farm Shop and J. Hatton Agriculture, as well as from Kendal, Lancaster and Skipton Auction Marts.
It can also be ordered through the post by sending a cheque for £13.50 (to include p&p) to Linda Allan, Middleton Hall Cottage, Kirkby Lonsdale, LA6 2ND.
