CARTMEL Priory School students have won a place in the regional finals of a public speaking competition.
Fifteen-year-olds Lauren Davies, Ned Sharpe and Beth Tomison beat off competition from five other teams at the Rotary Club Youth Speaks district finals held at Dallam School, Milnthorpe.
The Year 11 pupils will now deliver their speech on Affluenza at the regional finals in Frodsham on April 6.
If the team wins in Frodsham, they will go on to national finals in London.
Head of English, Judith Casey, said: "They deserve to do really well. They have worked hard for it."
