Dorothy Lownds

I have been overwhelmed by the tributes and donations paid to our darling Dorothy. It does not take away the sadness and grief, but eases the pain in knowing what a difference she made to so many lives in so many ways. Thank you all so much for sharing with us your personal sorrow at losing a dear friend and educator. The unobtrusive organizational skills of Sheila Barnes, Shirley Evans and Sarah Shepherd have not gone unnoticed. We appreciate their sensitivity. The end of Life care which Dorothy received at St Mary's Hospice and Boarbank Hall Nursing Home was an inspiration to witness, as genuine devotion was shown to her particular needs. Special gratitude is given to the Reverend Nick Devenish of Cartmel Priory for the moving service which he delivered just as Dorothy would have wished. We send heartfelt thanks to Alan Postlethwaite Funeral Director extraordinaire, for his attention to detail. He has literally gone far further than the extra mile to help us. God bless you everyone. Marjorie and Cathy Mitchell.
