A POPULAR footpath will be given a much-needed spring clean from head to foot this weekend and people are being encouraged to get involved.
The litter pick takes place at Ulverston canal on Friday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, beginning at Canal Head and finishing at Canal Foot. Refreshments will be provided by GlaxoSmith Kline at 3pm.
Coun Judith Pickthall said: "I would like to think maybe we could come up with a plan for the future where this happens more regularly because the footpath is really a terrible mess at the moment."
