A NEW showroom is swinging open its doors in the Lake District.

A new state-of-the-art air source heat pump showroom is opening in Ambleside tomorrow to help people across North West England make a confident and successful transition to sustainable home heating.

The Daikin Sustainable Home Centre, located on Rothay Road in Ambleside, is being launched by Express Plumbing Supplies, a Cumbrian family-run business with over 300 years of industry experience, together with world-leading heat pump manufacturer, Daikin.

The official launch event runs from 10am until 2.30pm tomorrow and is open to anyone with an interest in heat pumps, from homeowners and housebuilders to plumbers and heating installers.

Attendees on the day, which will include MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale Tim Farron, will be able to look round the new centre, meet experts from Express Plumbing Supplies and Daikin, and view the latest Daikin heat pump technology.

Ashley Wilson, MD and owner of Express Plumbing Supplies, said: “Opening our new Sustainable Home Centre is a fantastic milestone for our business and the local community.

"It will complement our overall renewable offerings package as well as help further develop the renewable energy market in Cumbria and North West England.

“We hope to see lots of friendly faces on the big day, and we’re thrilled to have MP Tim Farron join us on our journey to help our local community become more sustainable.

“As a family run, local plumbing and heating merchant we pride ourselves on our customer relationships and service excellence. With our expert advice in all areas of plumbing, heating and renewable energy solutions, and Daikin’s market-leading domestic product range, there will be something for everyone to benefit from, at the launch event and beyond.”

Following the launch event, the new centre will be a place for homeowners to familiarise themselves with air source heat pump technology, and to sit down with an expert to discuss the best heating and cooling solutions for their home, before they’re partnered with a trusted local installer.

As well as providing a hub for homeowners, the centre will also house a heat pump training centre to help the region’s plumbing and heating installers diversify into renewable heating solutions and ensure the long-term competitiveness of their businesses, as fossil fuel boilers are phased out.

Iain Bevan, commercial manager – Heating & Renewables at Daikin UK, added: “It’s important that homeowners who want to go green can easily access expert advice and guidance, helping them find the best solution for their household’s heating and hot water needs.

“Being able to explore and discuss heat pump technology in person is vital, as is knowing that it will be installed by a highly-trained professional - and that’s what our Sustainable Home Centres are all about.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Express Plumbing Supplies to open a Daikin Sustainable Home Centre together and help installers, energy experts and homeowners find the best renewable solutions for them while making a significant contribution towards our national net zero targets.”
