CUMBRIAN presenter Helen Skelton has returned home to the Lakes to prepare for a big week ahead on Strictly.

The Strictly Come Dancing star headed to her home county with dance partner Gorka, as they prepared for the the iconic Strictly Come Dancing movie night that will take place this weekend, Saturday October 8.

As part of preperations the couple visited iconic Lake District cinema The Alhambra in Keswick to watch a very special screening of Grease - after it was announced the couple will be dancing the Viennese Waltz to 'Hopelessly Devoted To You' from the iconic movie.

Jonathan Moore, a director at the much loved cinema said the Alhambra was delighted to welcome their special guests.

Mr Moore was particularly impressed with the attention to detail the pair were taking to their performance - which they are expected to perform as a tribute to the late Olivia Newton-John.

Talking about the Strictly stars' visit, Mr Moore said: "They're very sweet actually, first of all they are very professional.

"Movie night is one of Strictly's big iconic nights, and they are dancing to Hopelessly Devoted To You from Grease - and obviously Olivia Newton John passed away this year.

"It was really interesting watching them, because they wanted to watch the film on the big screen and wanted to really think about and capture that as a tribute.

"They just wanted to watch that one scene several times, to capture that one moment, it was really interesting watching them talk about what was so iconic and why it was important, and how she was expressing herself - like massive amounts of detail in order to work out how to interpret it, it was very touching.

"It was just really nice having them, the chemistry between them was really lovely, it was just really fun having them- it was fun for us and I think they enjoyed themselves too."

The cinema was 'sworn to secrecy' about the visit until the BBC released a tweet talking about the pair's movie week performance today.

All at the Keswick Alhambra are wishing the pair the very best of luck for tomorrow night.
