THE agricultural department of a law firm has been listed in Chambers and Partners, which ranks law firms and lawyers.

Oglethorpe, Sturton and Gillibrand (OSG) is based in Lancaster but has a Kirkby Lonsdale team which gives advice to farmers across South Lakeland, Lancashire, and North Yorkshire.

Chambers and Partners rank law firms and lawyers based on case studies, testimonials and client and intermediary recommendations. John Myers leads the team, Avelina Wright manages the Kirkby Lonsdale office, and Lara McIntosh and Michael Rutter are the solicitors.

The team were praised for their 'excellent depth of knowledge and experience' and were 'very efficient with communication and provide high levels of service.'

John Myers, the partner and head of the agricultural department said: "The firm is really pleased to be recognised by Chambers and is keen to continue to strive to provide the best service we can to our clients."

The solicitors provide advice on agricultural matters such as sales and purchases of farms, forestry, woodland, moorland and landed estates, landlord and tenant arrangements, environmental issues, sporting and fishing rights, boundary and property disputes, as well as farming partnerships and succession planning.
