THE fiftieth Annual Powerboat Record Week saw people from all disciplines of the powerboat racing world come together.
Coniston Powerboat Records Week is open to competitors from around the globe. German and French teams participated in the event this year alongside teams from all corners of the UK.
In all seven world records, 14 British national records, one French national record and one German national record fell during the week.
The fastest run of the week was by Sam Whittle. On Thursday morning Sam recorded an average speed of 133.23 mph, making him the new world and British national record holder in the Formula 2 class.
Kendal-born Adam Brown was the first man out on the water at the beginning of the week. He established a new world and British national record in the Diesel Outboard Outright class for the Cox Marine team at 62.84 mph. The CXO300 engine was a 4.4 Litre V8 diesel outboard fuelled by hydrogenated vegetable oil.
The youngest competitor was 15-year-old Kyle Horton from Southport in Lancashire. Kyle's fastest run of the week was at 70.11mph. He set the new British national water speed record in the Aquabike Runabout Naturally Aspirated class. Aquabikes are similar to jetskis.
Another aquabike rider was Dale Williams, who set a British record at 84.33mph in the National Aquabike OCJSR OCJ-300+ J1 class.
Hagan Jerzynski and his co-pilot Stef Scheepers travelled a thousand miles from Berlin with their solid V hull boat called 'Chica.' The journey paid off as they set a new world and German national record in the UIM B-300 class at 76.70mph.

- 164 Attempts on the run
- 7 World Records
- 14 British National Records
- 1 French National Record
- 1 German National Record
The event will return in 2023 for the 51st annual Power Boat Record Week on Coniston Water between October 30 and November 3.
