AFTER its success in 2018 and 2019, UlverSTEM will be back in town this weekend promising to be 'bigger and better.'

Aimed at six to sixteen-year-olds, UlverSTEM is a free STEM (science, technology, engineering, maths) educational event at Ulverston Victoria High School (UVHS) on Saturday from 9am to 4pm.

It is an opportunity for young people to discover what STEM subjects can offer in terms of education and a career.

The day will feature a whole host of interactive and fun activities, including live chemistry experiments and the 'SciFi Ulverston Challenge.' Professor Pumperknickel, Cumbria Constabulary Cyber, and Digital Crime Unit and Inspira will be giving presentations throughout the day.

There will also be local employers in attendance such as Siemens Energy, Oxley, Bender UK, Kimberly-Clark, NHS, BAE Systems, GSK, Orsted and more. 

UlverSTEm chairman Dr Michael Jeschke said: “We had such an overwhelming response to UlverSTEM in 2019.

"We look forward to welcoming young people and their families back to UlverSTEM and hope that we will continue to inspire youngsters to study and eventually gain a career in STEM subjects."

Free parking is available for visitors to UlverSTEM. The UVHS car park on Springfield Road will open from 7.30am – 5pm.
