THE Met Office has put out a weather warning for ice across much of Cumbria.
This includes Kirkby Stephen and north of Kendal and Sedbergh. The warning starts at 10.00 pm tonight and will last until 10.00 am tomorrow morning.
The Met Office website says 'icy surfaces and high ground snow will lead to some difficult travelling conditions in places on Saturday night and Sunday morning.'
It says to expect 'some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces,' and 'probably some ice on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.'
This weather warning includes the A66 from Kirkby Stephen to Penrith. The A591 approaching Keswick is also in the yellow zone, and the A6 heading north from Kendal.
There is already a yellow weather warning for rain which covers all of south Cumbria, which will end at 12 noon today.
