MORE than 200 homes have been affected by a power cut in South Lakeland.

A fault caused by an unexpected incident on the high voltage cable left 289 homes without electricity in the area of Coniston.

The power cut was first reported this morning, January 31 at 9:08 am.

There are currently 89 customers without supply.

In Grange-over-sands customers have also been affected by a power cut and there are currently 92 homes without electricity following the first report at 10:22.

The restoration is estimated to be concluded by the afternoon.
