A man has been charged with burglary and two counts of theft of motor vehicle following an incident at a property in Kendal.

The burglary took place at around 2.40 am on Saturday, February 11 at a property on Helsington Road in the town.

Intruders had forced their way into the home before making off with two cars parked on the driveway.

Officers subsequently arrested four men in connection with the burglary investigation.

Three of those men have been bailed with conditions not to enter Cumbria, whilst officers continue with their investigations.

The fourth man, Jason Liddell, 33, of Stonecrop Place, Ayr, Scotland, has been charged with burglary with theft and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

He was remanded to attend Barrow Magistrates' Court yesterday (February 14), where he was remanded until his next court date on March 17 at Carlisle Crown Court.
