A FAMOUS Philharmonic is heading to Kendal for a finale to the Lakeland Sinfonia season.

Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, conducted by Philippe Bach and with violin soloist, Esther Hoppe, will be playing in the Westmorland Hall of Kendal Leisure Centre on the evening of Saturday April 15.

The event is the finale to the 2022/2023 season for Lakeland Sinfonia and promises a mix of the familiar (Dvořák’s Symphony No.9 ‘From the New World’) and the less so (Weber’s Overture to Der Freischütz) with a Sibelius Violin Concerto completing the programme.

Concerts in the season so far have been described as "sparkling", "dazzling", "electrifying" and "atmospheric", with a particular joy in "the magic of a full orchestra".

There have been visits by BBC Philharmonic, Royal Northern Sinfonia and Manchester Camerata as well as November and March concerts by Lakeland Sinfonia.

Tickets for the concert as well as further details of the programme are available online via the Lakeland Sinfonia website at www.lakelandsinfonia.org.uk.

Tickets are priced at £29 and £40 as well as £5 tickets for under 19s and full-time students.
