MORE people will be able to benefit from cycling.

It comes as Kendal Wheels for All (WfA) has taken receipt of a new accessible trike.

The charity provides adapted cycling opportunities for anyone with a disability or additional needs. It also encourages social inclusion and promotes positive health benefits.

Kendal Cycling Club held a raffle to raise funds for the charity with prizes donated by Ribble Cycles, Ollie Bridgewood, of Global Cycling Network (GCN), and Top Dog Events' Chris Packman.

WfA coordinator, Chris Fisher, said: "The new trike will make a very beneficial addition to our fleet of adapted cycles and will mean more people will have the chance to ride a suitable bike for their needs.

"Kendal Cycling Club has supported us from the very start of our Kendal centre  - one of 50 WfA centres throughout the country - nearly five years ago and we are very grateful for the continued support they have offered us over the years.

"Many club members volunteer regularly to help at our cycle sessions and give their time freely for various events and fundraisers throughout the year."

WfA users will be joining a ride from Kendal Leisure Centre on April 30 to Staveley with the cycling club, the general public and Jenny Graham - current world record holder for circumnavigating the world unsupported by bike - as part of the Kendal Cycling Festival.
