TWO television crews have spent a day filming at an antique town centre shop.

Sleddall Hall Antiques Centre, in Wildman Street, Kendal, welcomed two STV crews on Sunday.

Robert and Andrew Aindow of Sleddall Hall Antiques Centre spent the morning with the presenter and auctioneer Hettie Jago for the BBC 2 hit show Antiques Road Trip.

The popular show sees antique experts on a road trip around the UK, searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.

In the afternoon, the British antique dealer and TV personality Paul Martin visited the shop to film an episode for The Great Auction Showdown - the dealer's new TV series broadcasted on Channel 5.

On the show, Paul Martin goes head-to-head with a rival antique expert in a series of challenges before they see who will make the most money when they auction their goods at the end of each day.

Andrew Aindow, of Sledall Hall Antiques Centre, said it was a pleasure to have the crews visiting.

He said: "It was quite a day filming. We were very pleased to see them because this would be about the 10th programme we have been on with regards to antiques.

"Paul Martin is really experienced and Hettie Jago has a very nice personality. It's quite interesting to meet all the different personalities."

"We have never had two crews in one day so that was quite a hectic day.

"They all loved the shop. Paul Martian realised it was like an old Dickensian shop."

Established over 70 years ago, Sleddall Hall Antiques Centre is owned by Robert and Andrew Aindow.

The shop has two floors of showrooms displaying a vast range of antiques and collectables with clocks, ornaments, brass, pictures, books, porcelain and crockery.

The episodes will soon be broadcasted.
