One of the UK's most popular comedians comes to Kendal next month. Hal Cruttenden is on his nationwide tour entitled ‘It’s Best You Hear It From Me’ coming to Brewery Arts Centre on June 16.

Hal's show at Edinburgh Fringe festival saw a slew of top reviews which is based around him and his soon to be ex-wife Dawn. After 21 years and 224 days Hal's back being single and decided to make a show about it rather than go to therapy.

The comedian says that he's lost enough weight to almost get his wedding ring off and, while he may be flying solo, he's far from alone; he's got his grown-up daughters, his dogs and his divorce lawyer.

The now parted couple are part of the surge in ‘grey’ divorces with Hal stating that the set isn't just for divorcees and single people who need cheeering up - it’s also for blissfully happy couples who can’t imagine that their marriage will fail, and that the smug look will be wiped off their face.

The show aims to not only make you laugh but will also give hope and offer a shared experience.

Reviewing the show, The Times said: "Simply a delight. Reminds me how much I love stand up."

The Telegraph added: "His strongest show to date…comedy’s alchemical ability to transmute pain into laughter is admirably to the fore."

One4review said: "Cruttenden is brilliant with the audience, genuinely engaging. If you’ve waited a long time to see a decent comedy show and can maybe get to just one this would be a serious contender."

Hal is fanatical about quizzes, politics and rugby but says he hasn't had a date since date since 1999. This was back when the conversation revolved around the twist in ‘The Sixth Sense’, 'will the Millennium Bug kill us' and 'isn’t that Boris guy funny on ‘Have I Got New For You’.

The former Perrier awards nominee is one of the top touring stand-up comedians working in the UK and Ireland today, and is a highly accomplished writer, presenter and actor.
