A FORMER teacher has been accused of a string of offences, including indecently assaulting a child and making indecent images of children.

A plea hearing for 55-year-old Mark Langford is due to be held next month.

The defendant, of Ingleton, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Thursday.

He is charged with 11 offences, including indecently assaulting a child under 16, causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, causing a child to watch a person engaging in sexual activity and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He is also charged with publishing an obscene article, three offences of making indecent images of children, possessing extreme pornographic images, possessing prohibited images of children, and distributing indecent images of children.

The offences date back to 2003.

The charges of making indecent images of children relate to 651 indecent images of children and 30 moving images in the most serious level A category, 514 still images in category B and 1,523 still images and 11 moving images in the least serious level C category.

Judge Nicola Talbot-Hadley adjourned the plea hearing until July 31.

The defendant is on bail.
