Cumberland Council is delighted to announce a comprehensive street cleaning programme aimed at helping to revitalise Cleator Moor.

The street cleaning initiative will begin at the large pedestrian area in front of the library, then work across to the Civic Hall and around the square and the surrounding pavements on Jacktrees Road, Cragg Road and Market Street before moving to the B5295 between the park at Montreal St and Quarry Rd.

Cumberland Councillor Denise Rollo, executive member for Sustainable, Resilient and Connected Places expressed her enthusiasm for the street cleaning initiative, stating: "We are pleased to continue this programme which we started in May in Workington.

"It aims to significantly improve the cleanliness of Cleator Moor. By diligently removing chewing gum and deep-seated dirt, we hope to create a more welcoming environment for our local community and visitors.

"We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the public and businesses during these works.

“Cumberland Council is committed to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through sustainable development and community engagement and putting health and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do."
