Residents have received letters informing them of roadworks that are due to last for six weeks.
The A66 will be closed occasionally for resurfacing and carriageway works as the works get underway on August 29 for approximately six weeks.
During this period, National Highways says it will need to occasionally close a short section of the A66 overnight to safely resurface and strengthen the road. This is between Sandford junction and Brough junction.
Road markings are also set to be replaced along with drainage covers.
Full carriageway closures will take place between 8pm and 6am over the following nights:
Sunday September 3 to Thursday September 7 2023 - five consecutive nights
Sunday September 10 to Thursday September 14 2023 - five consecutive nights
