The Lakes International Comic Art Festival, which celebrates the amazing world of comic artists, creators and writers, is coming to Windermere next month.

The weekend festival brings together the biggest names and rising stars of the comic art universe.

The event will be held in Bowness from Friday September 29 to Sunday October 1.

Comic artists and creators will arrive from all over the world including from the UK, Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, the US and beyond. 

The event will include live draws, interviews, presentations, workshops, exhibitions, book launches, Little LICAF family activities and a completely free Comics Marketplace. The festival takes place across multiple venues within a short walking distance including at  the Old Laundry Theatre, Windermere Jetty Museum and The Laundrama.

The festival's Page 45 event brings graphic novels to The Laundrama Georgian Room where comic book creators sign and sketch throughout the weekend for free.

There are also oodles of family-friendly activities which promises a weekend of wonderful events for all ages. There are plenty of other things to see and do for free or visitors can buy a pass to access all the premium events.

Guests so far include comedian Franke Boyle, who has written three best selling books and wrote Rex Royd - a comic strip for Mark Millar’s CLINT comic anthology. Watchmen's David Gibbons and Amy Chu who has worked for DC, Marvel and Netflix will also appear.
