A NEW pizzeria takeaway is coming to Kendal.

The Slice Thru takeaway is due to open in September/October this year and its owner said it will specialise in offering freshly oven-cooked pizzas at affordable prices.

The menu will consist of a vast array of pizzas including traditional margherita and pepperoni but will also include special ones such as spicy sausage, meat feast and a breakfast pizza, which is to be trialled on launch.

Garlic breads, fries, milkshakes and slushes will also be available for the public to enjoy soon after launch.

Customers will be able to place their orders online through JustEat or via the company’s telephone number for collection or delivery.

Kain Hogg, 23, founder and business owner of The Slice Thru, said: “I’m pretty pizza crazy. I hate to admit it but I will even eat a pizza at Christmas. I love the simplicity but excellence with how pizza is made and the taste it creates.

“I believe that starting this new business will hopefully bring more employment and opportunities not just to customers but also business locally.

“Kendal needs some new thriving ideas brought to the high street. I don’t want to see it become derelict and forgotten by my generation and other generations.

“I’m very eager to get going and for everybody to try our food.”

As part of a pre-launch event, Kain will be launching one of his slices of pizza 105,000 feet (20 miles) into the stratosphere.

The 23-year-old entrepreneur is still in the process of acquiring a premises for his takeaway but more details will be announced on the opening in the near future.
