THE headteacher of Settlebeck School in Sedbergh said that the students must be congratulated 'on their resilience and tenacity.' 

Mrs Sarah Campbell said: "We are incredibly proud of all our Year 11 students receiving results today. As we celebrate their individual achievements, we must congratulate them on their resilience and tenacity over recent years. The class of 2023, have been heavily impacted by the pandemic and despite knowing they faced tougher grading, they continued to be a conscientious, hardworking and incredibly caring group of young people.

"We know that the majority of students will be pleased with their results and will have the qualifications to progress onto their chosen destination in September. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our dedicated staff and our families for the support they have given this remarkable group of young people." 

Good results were achieved by many, including:

Isla Kitchingman: 9,9,9,9,8,8,8,7,7,7

Adam Sen: 8,8,7,7,7,7,6,6,M2 (+)

Andrew Reeves: 8,8,7,7,7,7,6,5,5,M2 (+)

Furthermore, Dudley Child and Imi Gubbins must be commended for the incredible amount of progress they have made since Year 7.
