A road in Ambleside will be closed this week as it receives £100,00 worth of resurfacing improvements.
The work, which started on Monday, will cover 500m of Borrans Road and will last for up to six nights.
A part of Westmorland and Furness Highways' investment in the area, work will take place between the hours of 6.30pm and 1am to ensure disruption to traffic will be kept to a minimum.
Councillor Peter Thornton, Westmorland and Furness Cabinet Member for Highways and Assets, said: "Smooth, well-maintained roads are the foundation of a thriving community, and this funding reflects our commitment to creating safe highways for all residents and visitors.
“We thank the public for their patience as we complete this work and would like to emphasise that local businesses will remain open throughout the duration of the works."
A signed diversion route is in place via the A591 and Wansfell Road.
