After being handed the keys to Kendal’s Ring O’Bells pub in Christmas 2021, things were immediately amiss to manager Scott Dawson.

Phones were being thrown across rooms, glasses fell with no force and the landlord’s daughter sparked up a conversation with another “little girl” who disappeared years ago.

The cherry on the cake was CCTV footage that caught a glass falling off of an undisturbed table and smashing, which went viral after Scott posted it online and found himself on the sofa of ITV’s This Morning.

Paranormal experts uncovered the resident spirit 'Edward the Ghost' and business began to boom, until now.

For the past couple of months, Edward has been nowhere to be found, leading to the terrifying prospect of themed ghost nights without a ghost.

With Halloween just around the corner, Scott was forced to call in the team at Paranormal Investigations Cumbria, led by Sarah Simmons, to see where Edward could be and help them keep the pub’s 'most haunted title'. In good news for the pub, trance medium Karl Reynolds was possessed by a ghost who was 'not a nice person', channelling Karl to try and stop the investigation. Alas, this restless spirit was nothing to do with Edward.

Investigators, however, had more success with the automatic writing planchette that revealed not just one. Not just two. Not just three. Not just four. Not just five. Not just six. Not just seven. Not just eight. Not just nine. Not even just 10. But 11 ghosts calling the Ring O’Bells home!

These included a little girl of five to six years and a bearded man possibly called Dillon, although Edward is sadly nowhere to be found for now…

The experts were keen to clarify that the spirits are not harmful and purely add atmosphere to the famed ghost nights at the pub.

Delighted with this haunted revelation, Scott was pleased to announce that the Ring O Bells is 'back in business'.
