The 'fixer-upper cottage' is in need of renovation and is up for auction on October 19 at a guide price of £250,000 to £350,000+.

The property is nestled in the scenic Kentmere Valley, Bridgestone and is close to both Staveley and Windermere.

The detatched property is in a scenically stunning location sat within the Kentmere Horseshoe which is a popular fell walk.

The route is a massive day out for walkers as it consists of no less than nine Wainwright summits, an ancient Roman Road, craggy cliffs, picture perfect tarns and spectacular views as far as the eye can see.

It is considered to be one of the best and most demanding of all of Adventure Peaks Guided Walks in the Far Eastern Fells.

Auction House Cumbria describes the property as having 'all the makings for a substantial family or holiday home.'

The ground floor has a glazed porch that leads into the hallway with lounge, dining kitchen and utility room. 

An upper ground floor houses a second lounge along with a study.

Three bedrooms sit on the first floor with a 'Jack and Jill' style bathroom.

Outside is an undercroft and small garden area.

On the auctioneers' website, the home is described as 'certainly not for the faint hearted' due to the amount of work that would need to be done. 

When posted on the Auction House Facebook page however, many people could see its potential and saw it as a great bargain.

One woman said: "That's going to be a great house eventually. Hope whoever buys it has deep pockets."

Another one said: "Gee whiskers!! That's a pretty price!!"

One Facebook called it a "A fixer upper" whilst another tagged their friend and said: "A great place to live. You'd do a fantastic job renovating the place."
