One of the Lake District's 'most famous' bar and restaurant has been put up for sale for over £2.6 million.

Brown Sugar is situated on the main road in Windermere and is expected to be subjected to high levels of interest.

Its prime location, garnering plenty of footfall, and its established reputation, mean that only substantial offers of around £2.65 million will be listened to.

Julian Troup, head of UK Hotels Agency at Colliers and the man handling the deal, said: "Brown Sugar quickly established itself as being one of the main bar and eaterries in the South Lakes.

"There is already a strong trading base yet there is still substantial scope to further adapt and develop the business."

Business space is located on three floors and more than 130 covers are provided, while outside there is seating for a further 40 persons.
