A READER took a photo of a cow with a distinctive heart-shaped mark from the drive of Conishead Priory, Ulverston.
Months before Valentine's Day, Dan Martin took a photo of a cow already expressing love. It is not clear how common it is for cattle to have marks like this.
However, it is not the first report of cattle with a heart-shaped marking. In 2017, Scottish newspaper The Press and Journal reported that a bull calf with a heart shape on its forehead had been spotted at a farm in Carsphairn, Dumfries and Galloway.
The mark had only been seen on the calf when it came in for tagging.
