EMERGENCY services were called after a man reportedly jumped into the River Kent.
Cumbria Police said they received a call at 3.30pm today to reports that a man had jumped into the river near Stramongate Bridge in Kendal. A spokesman said another man jumped in to help him.
Both men were out of the water by 3.50pm, said a police spokesman.
The man who jumped in left the scene by ambulance to be checked over, they added.
