A MAN with a history of anxiety and depression was found hanged by a friend, an inquest heard.
Mark Wood, aged 54, died at his home address on Kirkland View in Kendal on June 26 this year.
Cockermouth Coroners Court heard a friend had gone to check on Mr Wood in his bedroom after he found a note that had been left to the words of ‘I can’t suffer with the pain anymore’.
The court heard called 999 and a call handler advised that he start CPR but paramedics confirmed his death.
Records from his GP disclosed how Mr Wood had suffered with his mental health and had made previous attempts to take his own life.
Recording a cause of death as hanging and a conclusion of suicide, coroner Margaret Taylor told the friend: “There is nothing you could have done to have prevented his death.”
