A Lake District brewery has won gold at a regional competition thanks to its pale ale.

The Cask Pale Ale from Lakes Brew Co placed in top billing in the Session Pale, Blond & Golden Ales Category in the Northwest Regional Finals of CAMRA Champion Beer of Britain.

The success means that the company, based in Kendal, will take their product to the national finals in London next August to compete against the best from the rest of the country.

A spokesperson said: "After only two years it solidifies our small team's hard work and efforts and the talent of Matt and Alex who consistently brew such amazingly tasty beers. ⁣

"Come help us celebrate and have a beer with us this weekend at our November Tap, where the Pale will feature.⁣"
