SEDBERGH school pupils sang for hours in the centre of Kendal to raise money for the British Red Cross.
The pupils sang a mixture of classic Christmas carols, including Come All Ye Faithful, 12 Days of Christmas and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.
The Sedgwick house pupils volunteered to sing in Market Square all day.
The boarding houses have an annual tradition of volunteering in the community and fundraising for good causes in the run-up to Christmas.
Housemaster Stewart Oliver said: "The school has 'Sedbergh Gives Back' we have nine different houses and all the different houses are going to do charitable projects all scattered around the Lake District.
"This is eighteen of my house and the rest are at another charity so we've divided it into two. We've come to Kendal - it's more successful here because there's such a nice community than in the middle of Manchester where people just walk past us."
