PLANS have been lodged to convert a former shop into a takeaway in Sedbergh.
Mr Colak has submitted a planning application to the Yorkshire Dales National Park to convert part of the former Brown of Sedbergh clothing store into a pizza and kebab shop.
Planning documents say the proposals will bring employment to the area and make use of a vacant shop.
The proposals also involve dividing 38 and 40 on Main Street into separate properties as, according to planning documents, separating the shops to their original arrangement to provide premises for two businesses ‘suits the nature and character’ of the street.
A design and access statement concludes: “There are no perceived negative impacts, overall, it is considered that any potential negative aspects would be outweighed by the benefits that these proposals will bring.”
The planning application is under consultation until Sunday January 14.
