EMERGENCY services responded to calls of a building declared 'unsafe.'
This afternoon, January 18, at 2.21pm, Cumbria Police reported that Stricklandgate, in Kendal, was blocked both ways due to an unsafe chimney at Library Road.
The force received reports at around 12.20pm of bricks falling away from a chimney in Stricklandgate.
Westmorland and Furness Council Highways and Cumbria Fire and Rescue were in attendance.
The force has stated that traffic is coping well.
Emergency services have now left the scene.
