A MAJOR train operator is warning users not to travel through Cumbria today as a result of severe weather.
Transpennine Express has issued a warning on its website for the public not to travel to and from Scotland on January 21.
They advised anyone planning to travel between Preston and Edinburgh and Preston and Glasgow not to.
It comes after The Met Office declared an amber weather warning today and tomorrow for strong winds and heavy rainfall in Scotland and England.
Transpennine Express said its services across the rest of the network are also expected to be impacted.
Customers with train tickets for services who choose not to travel can claim a full refund.
