A NEW luxury champagne and cocktail bar and kitchen is set to open in the Lake District next month.

Errol’s of Bowness is set to offer a huge selection of champagne, premium cocktails and sharing-style small plates in a beautifully converted bank.

The site, which sits below luxury aparthotel The Rockefeller, has been transformed with a six-figure investment.

The elegant cocktail bar and kitchen will boast velvet booths, a marble bar top, bistro windows and a champagne vending machine - the only one of its kind in the Lake District.

Due to open mid-March 2024, the venture is the latest development from the Lakes Luxury Club, which has a portfolio of premium apartments across the Lake District as holiday lets.

The building has been lovingly restored with special attention paid to the bank’s features like the vault - with the original vault door and what is believed to be the biggest chandelier in a real bank vault.

It will house a private dining and drinking area that has a capacity of 12 to give guests an intimate experience for special occasions.

Guests can sit at what is being called 'the longest cocktail and champagne bar in the Lake District' and watch mixologists at work with a drink in hand a selection of small plates.

Menus will focus on simple, sophisticated serves showcasing quality ingredients and craftsmanship.

The cocktail menu will offer classics-inspired Signature cocktails with a hint of Japanese inspiration in flavour and design.

In terms of food, a curated selection of small plates has been designed to complement the drinks offering, with elegant light bites to be enjoyed tapas-style.

Fiona King, spokesperson for the Lakes Luxury Club, said: "Bowness is a hive of activity throughout the year now, not just in high season. This is presenting opportunities to give locals and visitors something unique that you might usually find in London or Manchester in a relaxed Lake District atmosphere.”

"There’s a fantastic offering of pubs, cafés and afternoon teas within the local area, but we wanted to bring something new. We’ve steered clear of themes that have been executed well by other businesses - literary references, nature, boating - and leaned into the architectural heritage of our building which used to be a bank."

"This renovation demonstrates our investment into the area, in which we’ve seen exponential growth within our sector: luxury tourism. We are extremely excited to showcase a little luxury, bringing excellent cocktails and service to both residents and tourists.”

Errol’s at The Rockefeller will open in March 2024.
