THE second edition of a rock festival is returning to Kendal in aid of a local charity.

Following the success of the first edition of Kendal Rocks, organisers were 'inundated' with bands who wanted to return for another year and be involved, said one of the organisers Katy Bilham.

The festival was sold out on both days with hundreds of people attending.

Kendal Rocks—The Sequel is returning to town on the first weekend of May, and 30 acts will be performing at The Venue over three days.

The festival is split into two stages with bands performing on the Venue Stage and others on the Barrel Stage.

It will kick off with a newcomer to Kendal Rocks, Naomi and the Nerds on The Venue stage and on the acoustic Barrel Stage will be The Aerobees.

"We have the two youth bands Tote and renamed band Headlock who were fantastic and many will have seen since Kendal Rocks last year playing in Kendal," said Katy.

All the profits will go towards the suicide prevention charity Action for Wellbeing, and the bands involved are playing for free.

Katy said: "As organisers we have had personal experience with losing loved ones due to suicide. We live in a society that doesn’t have the NHS resources to help.

"Charities like this are invaluable to our local area who, like everywhere else has seen a sharp Increase in people struggling to gain support for their mental health."

The full weekend ticket can be purchased for £40. Tickets in advance on Friday have a price of £12 or £15 on the door, on Saturday and Sunday £17 and £20 on the door.

"We are still looking for support in the form of sponsors so if anyone would like to get involved please Kendalrocksfest@gmail.com," added Katy.
