ONE of Kendal’s oldest pubs has been investigated for paranormal activity by a YouTube ghost hunting channel.

The Ring O Bells public house on Kirkland was built in the seventeenth century and sits on the grounds of the Parish Church.

It is only one of a handful of pubs to be built on consecrated grounds and was said to once store bodies of the deceased before a funeral.

Ghost-like activity has been reported previously with sightings of a little girl and a former landlord.

Ben Redhead and his team at Ghost Quest TV spent the night at the pub and placed several cameras around the establishment.

Throughout the night, Ben and his team conducted electronic voice phenomenon (EVP) sessions around the attic and cellar, bar area and dining room.

These sessions involve asking questions to potential spirits and waiting for a reply.

Despite not finding paranormal activity in every room, the team experienced a drop in temperature – indicative of a potential spirit in the area, they said.

They also heard both a male and a female voice coming from one of the rooms, as well as a spooky conversation with what they believed to have been the spirit of a maid.

A preview video of their visit is available now to watch on YouTube.
