Police in Cumbria were called this morning (March 19) to a report of a suspected ordnance being brought into a secondary school.
Police were called at 11.35 today to the report of a suspected ordnance at Appleby Grammar School in Appleby.
Officers attended the scene and, as a precaution, all children were immediately relocated to a separate part of the premises.
Advice was sought from the EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) Team and it was determined that the item was a replica and not a viable device.
There is no risk to the pupils or the public.
