TV stars Gok Wan and Helen Skelton filmed a new fashion campaign aimed for women in their middle age in Windermere. 

The pair were spotted in the Lakes entering The Brew Room café on Crescent Road earlier this month. 

Abbey Snookes (29) welcomed Gok and Helen to her cafe on 20 February, after her business had been scouted out months before by a member of their production team and chosen as a filming location. 

At the time, she was unsure exactly what the production team were filming. 

She said: "They were very friendly, they came straight over to me and introduced themselves.

"I think for Windermere as a whole it's great. We had just finished half term, it's good for the community. It gets people excited that Windermere is still on the map. For a business, having them there is showing a lot of interest."

Fashion platform JD Williams, which is under N Brown Group plc, collaborated with Sky Media and Channel 5 for a campaign targeted at a midlife audience. 

The campaign started on March 14 and will last until May 9.

The series of 10 minute TV idents, and 30 minute and 60 minute spots also feature comedian Judi Love. An interview between Gok and Helen was filmed in the Brew Room Cafe, where she discussed how her style and fashion confidence changed in midlife. 

Viewers can watch longform (10 minute) versions of the interviews on the JD Williams website. In the interviews, Gok discusses Judi and Helen's styles and recommends JD Williams' fashion, shapewear and beauty products.

He made his start in TV as a hair and make-up artist. 

The footage will be played out on Channel 5 and Sky channels and the campaign will be promoted via the digital and social channels owned by the media companies.  All the content has been produced by Sky Media. 

Carlisle-born Helen Skelton has fronted several Lake District-based TV segments over the years. She has appeared on Countryfile, Blue Peter and BBC Radio 5 Five.
