A MAN who was driving whilst over three times a legal drug limit has been banned and ordered to pay an expensive fine.
Rhys Lewis Clark, of Castle Rise in Kendal, was stopped by police whilst driving his Ford Transit van on Victoria Street in Windermere.
Road traffic officers stopped the 24-year-old male on Victoria Street where he was asked to conduct a roadside drug test.
The defendant tested positive for Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood and gave a lowest reading of 7 ug/L.
The legal limit is 2 ug/L.
Magistrates disqualified Clark for 12 months as a result of his guilty plea at the first opportunity.
He was also required to pay a £450 fine, court costs of £85 and a £180 surcharge.
