Developers at Lonsdale House Apartments in Ulverston have announced their official opening date will be in September.

Work has been taking place to restore the Grade II building at Daltongate to bring its historic features 'back to life'.

80 per cent of windows have now been replaced with new acoustic flooring placed throughout the building and all electronics and plumbing are now fixed.

The Cameron Investment Group took over in 2020 and has been turning the 19-bedroom Georgian townhouse into 13 apartments.

The townhouse has seen many weddings over the decades and will once again be a destination for couples wanting their special day there.

Cumbria and Yorkshire-based Wolfe Design and Build, along with Red Beard Carpentry, have been busy creating the structure for each apartment and fitting the custom-made windows.

The work has also allowed the fabulous cornices and ceiling details that were previously barricaded up to be revealed.

Founder of Cameron Investment Group Neil Cameron, who is originally from South Lakes, has previously said that restoring some of the stunning original fixtures was just as important as the project's modernisation work.
