A beloved family business in Ambleside has announced plans for a new site in Lancashire.
The Old Bank House Chocolate Shop has been operating in the Lake District since 1992 but does not look to be slowing down anytime soon.
The owners, the Farran family, revealed on Sunday that they will be opening a new shop in Lytham St Annes very soon.
They said: "This will be in addition to the Ambleside branch, and a proud moment for us as we expand our chocolate enterprise.
"We are thrilled to take on this new challenge and can’t wait to see new and familiar faces walking through the doors of Old Bank House Chocolates’ new establishment."
Founded by Mark and Michelle Farran, who have run the business with their son Daniel and their daughter Becky, the chocolate shop has been held in very high regard within the community for over 32 years.
The news came just after the anniversary of their original opening, when the shop greeted customers for the first time on Good Friday.
The move will likely make it easier for Mark and Michelle, who have been commuting from Blackpool everyday for those three decades to run the Ambleside branch.
Their son, Daniel, has been leading the online venture, bringing the shop closer to the social media age.
This increased engagement from a larger audience away from the Lake District has now resulted in there being a demand for a new shop, with the family only too happy to oblige their growing customer base.
The business originally started in Windermere before settling in Ambleside to take advantage of the steady flow of tourists.
It has won popularity over the years through its on-site production of chocolate, which patrons can watch from the front of house.
At the time of their 30th anniversary, Daniel hoped that the business would continue to run for 'generations' - the latest move has made that more of a possibility than ever.
